Meadow, NY: The LIGBT, sponsored by Storm, ran its annual Holiday House Shot Tournament at AMF E. Meadow featuring 3 different events. Eric Mueller, Brooklyn, NY won a total of $1,300 by winning the scratch and upper handicap events. Leslie Baptiste, Staten Island, NY won the lower handicap event and earned $800.

Leslie won the lower average handicap event with a 4-game total of 1093. Finishing 30 pins behind, with a 1063, was Carolyn Willis, Bethpage NY earning $400. Rounding out the top 3 was Joe Ferraiolo, W. Islip, NY with a 1045 worth $300. A total of 45 bowlers competed in this division which paid out a $2,600 prize fund to 11 different cashers. It took a 1023 series to cash in the lower average handicap event.

Eric won the upper average handicap event with a 4-game total of 1099. Finishing in second place, with a 1080 series, was Quan Jacob, Bronx, NY earning $400. Rounding out the top 3 was Curtis Hetmeyer, Brooklyn, NY with a 1075 worth $300. A total of 44 bowlers competed in this division which paid out $2,600 to 11 different cashers. It took a 1015 series to cash in the upper average handicap event.

Eric also won the scratch event with a 1051 four-game series (263 average) worth $500. Eric’s 279 final game jumped him over second place finisher Justin Kampf, Levittown, NY who shot a 1014 worth $300.  Rounding out the top 3 was Quan Jacob with a 1004 worth $200. The scratch event attracted 21 entries and paid out a $1,250 prize fund to 5 different cashers. It took a 985 series to cash in the scratch tournament.

The LIGBT Holiday Tournament drew a great field of 110 entries, paid out $6,450 in prize money, and had 27 bowlers go to the cashing window. The side action paid out an additional $5,805 bringing the total event payout to $12,255. Michael Lamanno, Bayshore, NY shot the only 300 in the tournament in Game 2. After the tournament was over the LIGBT raffled off over 50 prizes to many lucky winners.

 Levittown, NY: The LIGBT, sponsored by Storm, ran its first Quad team tournament at Levittown Lanes and it was a huge success. The winning team, with a 4-game total of 4,197 worth $4,000, was Tom Catalano, N. Babylon, NY, Joe Cigliano, W. Islip, NY, Zachary Koffsky, W. Islip, NY, and Sale Voulo, Bayshore, NY. Finishing in 2^nd place with a 4,126 total, and earning $2,200, was the team of Carolyn Willis, Bethpage, NY, Dave Gribbin, Massapequa, NY, Dylan Joslin, Seaford, NY and John Joslin, Seaford, NY.

With a total of 30 teams competing, the top 5 teams cashed. Finishing in third place, and earning $1,200 with a total pinfall of 4,109, was the team of Julio Arnold, Woodside, NY, Peter Libranti, Wantagh, NY, Mick Nenna, Tobyhanna, PA, and Ed Passaro, Hicksville, NY. Finishing in fourth place with a 4,097 total worth $800, was the team of Bill Verni, W. Babylon, NY, Kristen Henry, W. Islip, NY, James Marinelli, S. Hempstead, NY, and Chris Mattina, W. Babylon, NY. Rounding out the top 5, with a 4,088 total worth $600 was the team of Darry and Andre McDuffie, Floral, Park, NY, Charlie Rembert, Floral Park, NY, and Jaleesa Taylor, Flushing, NY.

Scoring on the house shot was good with one perfect game bowled: Michael Romano, Massapequa, NY. The high individual handicap series was shot by Tom Catalano with an 1,179.  The total payout of the main event was $8,800. The side action paid out an additional $8,820. Total payout for the day was $17,620.

The LIGBT’s next event is the annual Holiday tournament at AMF E. Meadow on Sunday, December 19^th at 1pm. This will be a 4-game house shot tournament featuring 3 different prize funds. Wantagh, NY: Michael Delillo, a 47-year-old left-hander from Levittown, NY, won LIGBT’s latest sport shot tournament at AMF Wantagh. Mike’s first LIGBT title became reality when he defeated defending AMF Wantagh champion Eddie Eng, Flushing, NY, 227-220 in the final shootout. Mike earned $1,000 for his victory while Eddie took home $600 for his second-place finish. Also competing in the final shootout was third place finisher Charlie Rembert, Floral Park, NY, earning $400 with a 219. Fourth place went to Zachary Koffsky, W. Islip, NY with a 204 worth $300.

The final shootout was an exciting match as all 4 competitors had a shot at the title going into the last 2 frames. When Michael tripled in frames 8-10 it forced Eddie to double in the 10^th to win. Eddie threw the first strike but left a split on his second shot to settle for the runner-up position. Charlie threw a triple in the last 2 frames to move up to third place. Zach, who tripled in frames 6-8, controlled his own destiny but he opened the last 2 frames to finish 4^th.

The LIGBT 2-squad sport shot tournament drew a wonderful fall crowd of 100 entries, paid out $4,960 in prize money, and had 25 bowlers go to the cashing window. The side action awarded an additional $6,145 bringing the total event payout to $11,105. Cut scores to cash on the 43-foot pattern were 668 at 1pm and 683 at 3pm. The wildcard winner, which is the highest 6-game series by a non-finalist, was Max Thomas, N. Babylon, NY with a 1310. The two squad leaders were Johannes Schulz at 1pm with a 771 and Ryon Lee with a 777 at 3pm.

Garden City, NY: The LIGBT, sponsored by Storm, ran a 3-event Thanksgiving weekend major at AMF Garden City and crowned 3 champions. The winner of the 49 & under handicap tournament was James Marinelli, S. Hempstead, NY. The winner of the senior handicap event was Sun Kim, Flushing, NY. The scratch champion was Sam Farber, Merrick, NY.

The 49 & under division champion, James Marinelli, earned the $1,000 top prize by qualifying with an 801 series in the Sunday, 11am squad. In the final shootout James defeated Nick Troy, Aquebogue, NY, 262-243 to grab his first LIGBT title. While Nick earned $675 for second, finishing in 3^rd was Charlie Rembert, Floral Park, NY with a 230 worth $425. Rounding out the top 5 was 4^th place finisher 15-year-old Nolan Herron, Fairfield, CT who earned a $300 scholarship with a 228 and 5^th place finisher Carolyn Willis, Bethpage, NY who shot a 224 to earn $250.  

The 50 & over senior champion, Sun Kim, earned the $1,000 top prize by qualifying with a 743 series in the finals squad of the tournament. In the final shootout Sun defeated Curtis Hetmeyer, Brooklyn, NY 291-274 to grab his 4^th LIGBT title in 6 years. While Curtis earned $675 for second, finishing in 3^rd was Pak Wong, New York, NY with a 267 worth $450. Rounding out the top five was 4^th place finisher Scott Teitler, Patchogue, NY with a 252 worth $350 and 5^th went to Darryl McDuffie, Melville NY with a 243 worth $250.

The scratch champion, Sam Farber, earned the $700 top prize by qualifying with a 715 series in the Friday 10pm squad. In the final shootout Sam defeated Joshua Roca, New Hyde Park, NY 279-227 in a dominating performance. While Joshua earned $400 for second place, finishing in 3^rd was Darryl McDuffie with a 223 worth $300. Rounding out the top 4 was Jacob Gaddam, Modesto, CA with a 217 worth $250.  

The LIGBT Thanksgiving Major drew 254 total entries, cashed 70 spots, and had an event payout of $13,950 (with $1,500 added by the LIGBT.) The side action paid out an additional $10,500 bringing the total event payout to $24,450.

E. Meadow, NY: Sun Kim, a 54-year-old sushi chef from Flushing, NY won LIGBT’s sport shot tournament at AMF E. Meadow. Sun won his 2^nd LIGBT title by defeating Jong Bo Shim, Fresh Meadows, NY, 260-216 in the final shootout. Sun earned $1,000 for his victory while Jong Bo took home $500 for 2^nd place. Finishing in third was Joe LaBargo, Bayside, NY with a 212 worth $300 and fourth went to Monica McMillan, E. Elmhurst, NY with a 182 worth $250. 

The final shootout was dominated by Sun as he threw 5 strikes in a row starting in the third frame to take control of the match. The real competition was for 2^nd place where Joe needed a double in the 10^th frame to secure the runner-up position. But a stoned 10 pin gave Jong Bo second place and Joe settled for third. Monica, making her first TV finals, started with a strike but couldn’t fill frames and finished fourth.

The LIGBT 2-squad Halloween sport shot tournament drew a total of 47 entries, paid out $3,320 in prize money, and advanced 13 bowlers to the finals. Over $900 was added by the LIGBT to insure a solid prize fund. The side action awarded an additional $2,030 bringing the total event payout to $5,350. Cut scores to cash on the Kegel Broadway 37-foot pattern were 705 at 1pm and 673 at 3pm. The wildcard winner, which is the highest 6-game series by a non-finalist, was shot by Maniram Basdeo, Bronx NY with a 1309.

Levittown, NY: The LIGBT, sponsored by Storm, ran a 3-event house shot Mini-Marathon at Levittown Lanes and crowned three great champions. The winner of the lower average handicap event was Pak Wong, New York, NY.  The winner of the upper average handicap event was youth bowler Timothy Smith Jr., W. Islip, NY. The 3rd champion was the scratch winner, youth bowler Kyle Perillo, Nesconset, NY. Each event featured 4-games with total wood determining the final position.

Pak Wong won the lower average handicap event with a 4-game total of 1042, worth $600. Finishing 30 pins behind, with a 1012 series, was Tayo Farinu, Cambria Heights, NY earning $300. A total of 27 bowlers competed in this division which paid out a prize fund of $1,620 to 7 different cashers. It took a 963 series to cash in the lower average handicap event.

Timothy Smith Jr. won the upper average handicap event with a 4-game total of 1056, worth $600 in SMART scholarship. Finishing in second place, with a 1043 series, was Darcy Monroe, E. Meadow, NY earning $300. A total of 25 bowlers competed in this division which paid out $1,505 to 6 different cashers. It took a 949 series to cash in the upper average handicap event.

Kyle Perillo won the scratch event with a 963 series (240 average) worth $485 in SMART scholarship. Finishing in 2^nd place was Darcy Monroe with a 927 series worth $250. Rounding out the top 3, with a 924, was Timothy Smith Jr. with a 924 worth $125 in SMART scholarship. The scratch event attracted 16 entries and paid out a $960 prize fund to 4 different cashers. It took an 898 series to cash in the scratch tournament.

The LIGBT Mini-Marathon at AMF E. Meadow drew 68 entries, paid out $4,085 in prize money, and had 17 bowlers go to the cashing window. The side action paid out an additional $3,940 bringing the total event payout to $8,025.

Wantagh, NY: Eddie Eng, a 58-year-old right-hander from Flushing, NY, won LIGBT’s sport shot tournament at AMF Wantagh. Eddie’s third title, but first one in 8 years, became reality when he defeated Eddie Cintron, Laurelton, NY 253-225 in the final shootout. Eddie Eng earned $1,000 for his victory while Eddie Cintron took home $500 for his second-place finish.

The final shootout had 6 competitors all surviving a tough Middle Road pattern. Rounding out the top 6 was third place finisher Kyle Lathan, Bronx, NY with a 216 worth $300, 4^th went to Utrice Coleman, Deer Park, NY with a 213 earning her $250, 5^th went to Sang Hyub Oh, Fresh Meadows, NY with a 207 worth $225 and 6^th place went to Tyger Folmar, Queens, NY with a 178 earning him $200.

The final shootout was an exciting match as the top 4 were within 6 pins of each other going into the last 2 frames. Eddie Eng, who struggled early, finished with 6 strikes in a row to capture the victory. Eddie Cintron converted a spare in the final frame to secure second place. Utrice bowled great but a few late opens cost her the title. Sang Hyub Oh had the early lead but a couple of late splits dashed his title hopes. Kyle bowled well but couldn’t get the double he needed to grab the title. Tyger, who was giving everyone handicap and the only lefty in the shootout, could not string the strikes he needed to win the tournament.

The LIGBT 2-squad sport shot tournament drew a nice fall crowd of 73 entries, paid out $3,595 in prize money, and had 19 bowlers go to the cashing window. The side action awarded an additional $3,625 bringing the total event payout to $7,220. Cut scores to cash on the Middle Road 39-foot pattern were 662 at 1pm and 670 at 3pm. The wildcard winner, which is the highest 6-game series by a non-finalist, was shot by Joe Ferraiolo, W. Islip, NY with a 1355.

Garden City, NY: The LIGBT, sponsored by Storm, ran a special trio’s tournament at AMF Garden City. The winning team, with a 4-game total of 3,200 worth $2,100, was Merci Harden, Elmont, NY, Kenny Hayes Jr., Brooklyn, NY and Leon Kessee Jr., Hempstead, NY. Finishing in 2^nd place with a 3,132 total, and earning $1,050, was the team of Joe Novara, Staten Island, NY, Danny Santiago, Bronx, NY, and John Weiss, Shirley, NY.

The LIGBT teamed up with House Shot Heroes to create this special Trio’s Challenge. Each team had to consist of at least one senior (50+) and one scratch bowler. A nice crowd of 28 teams (84 bowlers) competed at AMF Garden City with a total of 5 teams cashing (1 in 6.) 

Scoring on the house shot was good with one perfect game bowled: Max Thomas, N. Babylon, NY. Twone Williams, Laurelton, NY shot a 299 leaving a 10 pin on his last ball. To cash in the team event, you had to shoot 3,103. The total payout of the main event was $4,560. The side action paid out an additional $10,940. Total payout for the day was $15,500.

The LIGBT will be running a 4-person “Quads” handicap tournament on Saturday, December 11^th at Levittown Lanes. Any 4 bowlers can compete together as this is a handicap tournament with a team max of 880.
