LIGBT ANNOUCES SEASON 6 FALL SCHEDULE

Posted On: September 15, 2013

Syosset, NY: The Long Island Generations Bowling Tour (LIGBT) has released its 14 event fall schedule of handicap events. All events feature guaranteed top prizes of $1,000-1st and $500-2nd with 1 in 5 each squad advancing to the finals and cashing for a minimum of $70. The LIGBT remains an amateur only membership club for bowlers averaging 220 or under the past 3 years.

The fall schedule will feature 3 different formats. Most tournaments are 2-squads ending with an elimination finals. Several events are 3-squad tournaments featuring a match play final. The third type of event is the 5-game marathon which runs Thanksgiving eve and New Year’s Day. The LIGBT will be visiting this fall; AMF Babylon, AMF East Meadow, AMF Plainview, AMF Wantagh, East Islip Lanes, Herrill Lanes, and South Levittown Lanes. All tournaments will put down a challenge pattern which will keep scores at a reasonable level.

The LIGBT is entering its 6th year and has enjoyed amazing success. The LIGBT boasts more than 1,800 members and has paid out over $1 million in its first 5 seasons. A total of 43 events are planned for Season 6 including 6 major events with top prizes of $3,000-1st and $1,500-2nd.

The LIGBT’s success is due to several factors. First is the affordability. Entry fees for most events are only $65 per squad. At an average event more than one-third of the bowlers advance to the finals with all cashing. The handicap rules prevent any bowler from dominating. Last season there were only 2 repeat champions out of 31 events.

The LIGBT is sponsored by Brunswick, the official ball of the LIGBT. Additional sponsor support comes from Kegel, Farmingdale Wellness Centers, CLS Custom Upholsterers, and Randi Siegle Law Offices.
