Garden City, NY: The LIGBT visited AMF Garden City for a sport shot Handicap Doubles tournament. The winning team of the 4-game event was Pierce Field, Shirley, NY and Nick Falsetta, N. Babylon, NY shooting a 1,901 series. Their 43-pin victory was worth $2,000. Pierce also took home second place with a different partner, Guy Sereno, Massapequa, NY. Their team series was 1,858 worth $1,000.
In third place, finishing just 1 pin behind Pierce and Guy, was the team of Cameron Potts, Babylon, NY and Jerome Brantley, Uniondale, NY with an 1,857 worth $700. Rounding out the top 4 was the team of Donald Eubanks, Danbury, CT and Cameron Potts with an 1,847 worth $650.
A separate optional singles event was offered and won by Pierce Field with a 977 series worth $200. Finishing in 2nd place was Cameron Potts with a 965 total earning $150. Rounding out the top 3 was Steven Singer, Merrick, NY with a 940 series worth $100. A total of 33 entries paid the $20 singles entry fee generating an 8-person $660 prize list.
The Saturday doubles event drew an incredible field of 112 teams, with 16 teams cashing in the 8,660 prize fund. The side action paid out an additional $3,990 bringing the day’s total payout to $12,650. The cut score to cash on the “Broadway” pattern was 1,765. The Brunswick ball and Turbo triple roller raffle winners were Eddie Cintron and Jason McEvilly. The LIGBT welcomed 12 new members at AMF Garden City.
