Tyger Folmar & Danny AlladadoehSyosset, NY: The LIGBT, sponsored by Storm, ran its monthly house shot Mini-Marathon at AMF Syosset and attracted an amazing crowd of 147 total entries and paid out over $19,000. Three different champions were crowned: Tyger Folmar, Miramar, FL earned $1,000 by winning the 49 & under handicap event. Danny Alladadoeh, E. Elmhurst, NY earned $1,000 by winning the 50 & over handicap tournament. Tyger earned an additional $650 by winning the scratch competition. Tyger had a $2,000+ pay day when you include the pots he won.
The 49 and under handicap tournament drew 52 entries and paid out 13 cash spots. In the final match top seed Tyger Folmar (1063) bowled against 2nd place qualifier Gregory Mintz Jr., Staten Island, NY (1061.) Tyger defeated Greg 249-244 in a very tight match. Tyger earned $1,000 while Gregory earned $500. It took a 959 series to cash in the 49 & under event which paid out $3,125.
The 50 & over handicap tournament drew 63 entries and paid out 16 cashing positions. In the final match top seed Danny Alladadoeh (1091) bowled the 2nd place qualifier Rodney Williams, Central Islip, NY. The final match was tight until Danny strung several strikes in a row late to win 261-243. Danny earned $1,000 while Rodney earned $500 as the runner-up. It took a 955 series to cash in the 50 & over event which paid out 3,785.
The scratch tournament drew 32 entries and paid out 8 cashing positions. The final match featured the same 2 bowlers that advanced to the 49 & under handicap finals: Tyger Folmar and Gregory Mintz Jr. Tyger grabbed his second title of the day by winning the scratch match 225-224. Tyger needed a mark in the tenth frame to claim the victory. It took an 881 series (220 average) to cash in the scratch event which paid out $1,925.
The LIGBT Mini-Marathon at AMF Syosset drew a near sell-out crowd of 147 entries, paid out $8,835 in prize money, and had 37 bowlers go to the cashing window. The side action paid out an additional $10,140 and the raffle paid out another $340 bringing the total event payout to $19,335. The LIGBT welcomed 14 new bowlers and gave away a Storm ball to Loquan Brown who won the ball raffle. Joe Zagari, Islip Terrace, shot the only 300 scratch game. This was Joe’s first adult tournament since he graduated from youth tournaments.
LIGBT’s next house shot tournament is another 4-game scratch and handicap Mini-Marathon at AMF Garden City, Sunday, May 2nd at 1pm.
