Syosset, NY: The Long Island Generation Bowling Tour (LIGBT) is rolling out season 5 with some big news. The LIGBT is pleased to announce they have entered into a partnership with Brunswick and DV8 to become the official ball of the Tour. All members will enjoy special discounts on all Brunswick products plus the chance to win balls at many events.
The LIGBT also released its fall schedule with 10 events including two Doubles Tournaments, a Major Tournament, and a 5-game New Years Day Marathon. All events will have a minimum $1,000 top prize with a prepaid entry fee of $60. Most events will run on Sunday beginning at 1pm.
Some new rules will take effect immediately including a new maximum average of 220 and the male minimum average increasing to 155 (women minimum remains at 140). Handicapping will now be done using 90% of 220. Also new will be the requirement that bowlers must compete in at least one event prior to a major tournament to be eligible to bowl in the major events. This rule only applies to current LIGBT members. New members are still welcome to join the LIGBT at Major Tournaments.
To add more excitement to LIGBT events several optional programs are being introduced. Bowlers can now enter a doubles event and have as many partners as they want. Bowlers can also increase the amount of money they win by entering a progressive mega jackpot. If a bowler that enters the mega jackpot wins the tournament they win both the $1,000 top prize and the mega jackpot. If the winner doesn't enter the jackpot the money rolls over to the next event. The LIGBT is also adding a progressive mystery score jackpot where if your second game matches the mystery number you win a big bonus.
After 4 successful seasons the LIGBT now boasts over 1,500 members and has paid out in excess of $1,000,000. The key to LIGBT's success is anyone can win at every tournament as no one dominates. The LIGBT is sponsored by CLS Custom Upholsterers, Kegel, Brunswick, Randi Siegel Law Offices, Station Casinos, and The Mini-Eliminators.
