Garden City, NY: The LIGBT, sponsored by Storm, ran a special trio’s tournament at AMF Garden City. The winning team, with a 4-game total of 3,200 worth $2,100, was Merci Harden, Elmont, NY, Kenny Hayes Jr., Brooklyn, NY and Leon Kessee Jr., Hempstead, NY. Finishing in 2nd place with a 3,132 total, and earning $1,050, was the team of Joe Novara, Staten Island, NY, Danny Santiago, Bronx, NY, and John Weiss, Shirley, NY.
The LIGBT teamed up with House Shot Heroes to create this special Trio’s Challenge. Each team had to consist of at least one senior (50+) and one scratch bowler. A nice crowd of 28 teams (84 bowlers) competed at AMF Garden City with a total of 5 teams cashing (1 in 6.)
Scoring on the house shot was good with one perfect game bowled: Max Thomas, N. Babylon, NY. Twone Williams, Laurelton, NY shot a 299 leaving a 10 pin on his last ball. To cash in the team event, you had to shoot 3,103. The total payout of the main event was $4,560. The side action paid out an additional $10,940. Total payout for the day was $15,500.
The LIGBT will be running a 4-person “Quads” handicap tournament on Saturday, December 11th at Levittown Lanes. Any 4 bowlers can compete together as this is a handicap tournament with a team max of 880.
