Meadow, NY: The LIGBT visited AMF E. Meadow and ran a special 2-squad house shot event. Sean Teahan, Islip, NY won his first LIGBT title since joining the LIGBT in 2010 by defeating Charlie Fucci, Central Islip, NY 264-228. Sean earned $1,000 while Charlie earned $600 for second place. Finishing in third place was Phil Jankowitz, Plainview, NY shooting a 217 and earning $400. Rounding out the top 5 was 4th place finisher Jason Epps, Jamaica, NY with a 213 worth $350 and 5th place finisher Angel Villavencio, Whitestone, NY with a 201 worth $300.

The final shootout was a great match as 4 of the 5 bowlers were looking for their first LIGBT title. Sean bowled like a champion the entire game as he was the only final shootout bowler to throw a clean game. Sean took the early lead with a double in frames 3 & 4 and locked up the title by throwing 5 strikes in his 6 last frames. By the end of the match the battle was for 2nd place with Charlie finishing with 5 strikes in a row to go from 4th to 2nd place. Phil bowled well but when he missed a 1-pin spare in the 10th frame he had to settle for 3rd place. Jason threw plenty of strikes but 2 splits cost him a chance at the title. Angel, who is 79-years young, seemed tired and managed only 1 strike to finish in 5th place.

The LIGBT 2-squad house shot tournament drew a crowd of 116 entries, paid out $5,725 in prize money, and had 29 bowlers go to the cashing window. The side action awarded an additional $4,545 bringing the total event payout to $10,270.

Scores to cash on the house shot pattern were 706 at 1pm and 689 at 3pm. The wildcard winner, which is the highest 6-game series by a non-finalist, was Don Boncoeur, St. Albans, NY with a 1,422. High series of the day was shot by 2nd place finisher Charlie Fucci with a 764 in the 1pm squad. Leon Kessee, Hempstead, NY shot the only perfect game of the tournament in the 1pm squad.

LIGBT’s next tournament is a St. Patrick’s Day House Shot tournament at Levittown Lanes on Sunday, March 17th (1:30pm start.) To view the results of the AMF E. Meadow event please visit www.ligbtour.com. The LIGBT is sponsored by Turbo, WON Network and Randi B. Siegle Attorney at Law.
