Wantagh, NY: The LIGBT ran its House Shot Series #4 at AMF Wantagh on Sunday and crowned 2 great champions. The handicap champion, earning her second title, was Romie Caiaccio, Wantagh, NY and the scratch champion, winning his first title, was Alex Cruz, Hicksville, NY.
Romie earned the $1,000 top prize in an amazing handicap shootout where the top 3 were separated by just 2 pins! Romie shot a 242 which was one pin better than 2nd place finisher; 79-year-old Angel Villavicencio, Whitestone, NY. Angel’s 241 earned him $500. Finishing in third place with a 240 was Ken Kramer, Ronkonkoma, NY earning $300. This was Ken’s first LIGBT final shootout appearance. Rounding out the top 4 in the handicap shootout was William Tudy, Brooklyn, NY with a 198 worth $250
The scratch event was won by Alex Cruz with a 4-game total of 922 worth $500. Finishing in 2nd place, just 4 pins behind with a 918, was Adam Chase, N. Babylon, NY earning $300. Rounding out the top 3 in the scratch event was Rich Glinnen, Bayside, NY with a 914 earning him $200. The scratch event drew 23 entries and paid out a 6-person prize list totaling $1,360.
LIGBT’s House Shot Series Event #4 drew a nice field of 85 entries, paid out $5,070 in prize money, and had 22 bowlers go to the cashing window. The side action paid out an additional $2,040 bringing the total day’s payout to $7,110. Scores to cash were 908 in the 49 & under handicap division, 884 in the senior handicap division, and 888 in the scratch event.
LIGBT’s next tournament is a Handicap Doubles event at AMF Garden City; Sunday, January 28th (1pm start.)
