Levittown, NY: The LIGBT, ran its second House Shot Series event of Season 16 at Levittown Lanes. The tournament used a 4-game format with the top 2 from each age handicap division advancing to a 4-person shootout. There was also a separate scratch competition. The handicap champion was Peter Parenti, Bayville, NY earning $1,000. The scratch winner was Justin Kampf, Levittown, NY earning $400.
The final handicap shootout featured 4 bowlers of which three were looking for their first LIGBT title. The 4 contestants bowled well as there were just 6 open frames between them. Peter secured his title by throwing a strike and spare in the final frame giving him a 240-238 victory over 2nd place finisher Mike Opak, Kew Gardens, NY who earned $550. Finishing in third place was Alex Kuhne, Bethpage, NY with a 222 worth $350. Rounding out the top 4 was John Sandano, Brooklyn, NY with a 219 worth $300.
The scratch event was won by Justin Kampf with a 4-game total of 989 worth $400. Finishing in 2nd place with a 982 was Kyle Durfee, Levittown, NY earning $250. Rounding out the top 3 was Max Thomas, N. Babylon, NY with a 930 earning $150. The scratch event generated 15 entries and paid out $920.
LIGBT’s House Shot Series Event #2 drew a nice field of 82 entries, paid out $4,840 in prize money, and had 20 bowlers go to the cashing window. The side action paid out an additional $2,295 bringing the total day’s payout to $7,135. Scores to cash were 946 in the 49 & under handicap division, 936 in the senior handicap division, and 902 in the scratch event.
LIGBT’s next tournament is a special Thanksgiving weekend (Sunday, November 26th-1pm) Handicap Doubles event at AMF E. Meadow. Top prizes to the winning team will pay a minimum of $2,000.
