Meadow, NY: Darcy Monroe, E. Meadow, NY won his second LIGBT title by defeating 3 Kampf family members in the final shootout. Darcy shot a 248 to win the $1,000 top prize. Finishing in second was Justin Kampf with a 240 worth $500, 3rd went to his father Jack with a 235 worth $350, and 4th was taken by the youngest of the 3 Kampfs, Scott with a 225 worth $300. It was certainly an historic shootout.
The final shootout was 3 against 1 and to everyone’s surprise the loner won the match. All 3 Kampfs are accomplished bowlers and shot well all day. But Darcy wasn’t intimidated and started with 7 strikes out of his first 9 frames. Jack stayed close with a triple in the middle of the game and Justin was also close with 6 strikes in his first 9 frames. In fact if Justin or Jack doubled in the 10th they would have won. Justin threw the first one but left a 6 count on his second shot and Jack opened in the final frame to miss his title chance. Darcy was shocked holding the check and trophy.
