Plainview, NY:  Guy Sereno, a 40 year old solar panel installer from W. Hempstead, NY won his first LIGBT title at LIGBT’s 5-game handicap marathon held at AMF Plainview. Guy shot a 268 in the final shootout to defeat second place finisher Max Thomas, Stamford, CT by 6 pins. Guy’s victory was worth $1,500 while Max took home $750 with his 262. Rounding out the top 4 was third place finisher Bill Verni, W. Babylon, NY with a 254 worth $400 while fourth place went to Yon Gyo Phark, Flushing, NY with a 199 worth $300.

The final shootout was a very close and high scoring match right to the end. All of the finalists, except for Yon Gyo, threw a ton of strikes with only 6 pins separating the top 3 going into the 9th frame. With Bill opening in the 9th frame, and Max failing to throw a double in the final 2 frames, meant Guy just had to mark in the 10th. When he made an easy 1 pin spare Guy finally got his first LIGBT trophy in 5 years.
