Baldwin, NY: The LIGBT visited Baldwin Lanes for the first time and a great crowd of 113 entries packed the center. Congratulations to our two newest champions; Adam Chase of Seaford, NY who won the scratch title and $1,000 while the handicap title went to John Pasciucco of Baldwin, NY who won $500.
The scratch event offered bowlers two ways to make the finals; bowl 6 games or 3 games. The six game qualifying leader was Adam Chase who rolled a 1331 series (222 average). Adam was automatically seeded into the final shootout. The 3 game qualifying leader was Joe Novara, East Patchogue, NY who shot a 655 (218 average) and earned 1 bye in the finals.
Adam’s great bowling in qualifying didn’t stop in the finals. In the shootout Adam crushed his 3 opponents and shot a 240. His closest competitor was Jason French of Levittown, NY, who was making his second consecutive shootout, and shot a 191 to finish second and earn $500. The third bowler in the shootout was John Conroy of Mahopac, NY. John rolled a 172 to win $250.
The handicap event had some great bowling despite a very tough pattern. Michael Conroy of Mahopac, NY hit the 300 game jackpot (269 scratch) and earned $170. The 6pm qualifying leader was Jae Yi, Flushing, NY who rolled a 754 series and was seeded directly into the shootout. Michael Conroy was the 8pm squad leader with an incredible 794 series and earned 1 bye in the finals.
The handicap shootout was a total domination by John Pasciucco. John bowled so well (289 handicap) that his scratch score of 232 would have beaten the other 3 opponents with their handicap. Finishing second, with a 229, was Cary Fishman of NYC. Cary earned $350 for second while Ken Harrison (222) of Queens, NY took home $300 for third and Jae Yi earned $250 for her fourth place finish.
