BIG IMPROVEMENTS

FOR LIGBT EVENTS!

The LIGBT’s next event kicks off our summer schedule; a 2-day Memorial Day Weekend tournament at AMF E. Meadow. This event starts on Friday, May 23th with 2-squads: 7pm & 9pm and finishes the next day; Saturday, May 24th with 3-squads: Noon-2pm-4pm. Top prizes are guaranteed to pay $2,000-1^st & $1,000-2^nd with all finalists earning at least $150.

Several changes start at the East Meadow event. First, all house shots will now be MODIFIED HOUSE SHOTS. The Memorial Day event features “Bourbon Street” which is a 40 foot pattern with a 7.67 to 1 ratio. It is a very playable pattern with a little out-of-bounds. This should make scoring more reasonable than a normal house shot. Let’s be honest, scoring in our house shot events have become too high and everyone’s average is at a level many don’t like competing.

The 2^nd big change is many house shot averages have been lowered 10 pins. In addition, we are now using handicap 90% of 230 instead of 220. This means everyone will enjoy up to 18 pins of extra handicap per game!

The 3^rd big change is a new SUPER SENIOR BONUS! In multi-squad events, including the Memorial Day Weekend tournament, we now guarantee at least 1 in 8 super seniors (65 & over) advancing to the finals. This is the same bonus currently offered to women. At our regular 1-squad house shot events we will guarantee 1 in 4 Super Seniors cashing!

We will still use a regular house shot pattern for our doubles events but the games you bowl WILL NOT COUNT towards your modified house shot average. (Next doubles event is Sunday, June 22^nd at AMF Garden City.) Also new, bowlers competing in the scratch division, that don’t cash, now earn bonus pins. These bonus pins can only be used if they enter a handicap division in future modified house shot events.
