WIN LIGBT DOUBLES TITLE!

 

Congratulations to our latest Doubles Champions Ken Laks & Jeff Dashnaw for winning the $2,000 top prize on Sunday at AMF Wantagh. Ken & Jeff shot an 1,806 to defeat the team of Dale Alberino & Stephen Jones by 38 pins. Dale and Stephen's 1,768 earned them $1,000 and a 2nd place finish. Finishing in 3^rd place with a 1,761 was the team of Joe Scianna & James Aprile earning $700.

 

The LIGBT requested "Easy Street" but a pattern similar to "Abbey Road" was put down. Scoring was more than 200 pins below what normally cashes or wins an LIGBT doubles event. A total of 16 teams cashed with 1,664 low to cash.

 

The optional singles event was won by Chris Thomas with an 890 4-game handicap series. While Chris earned $300 for first place, finishing in 2^nd with an 883 was James Aprile earning $175. Rounding out the top 3 in singles was Joe Scianna with an 878 worth $125. A total of 60 bowlers entered the optional singles which paid out a $1,220 prize fund. Low to cash in singles was 809.

 

The AMF Wantagh Handicap Doubles event drew a wonderful crowd of 92 teams and paid out a total of $7,840. With side action, the day's total payout was $12,700.
